Auto Machining Jobs on the Rise
Auto
machining job shops create many of the auto parts that are used in our cars. For many decades, these shops were competing to have their parts used by auto manufacturers all over the world. In recent years, however, auto machining job shops have benefited from the number of new auto manufacturers that have been established not only in the United States, but in other countries as well. With less competition for a small number of manufacturers, more auto machining job shops are experiencing an increase in business as more and more manufacturers are in need of quality parts.
Auto machining job shops provide a wide range of products that are used in the cars we drive. From engine blocks to cylinder heads to manifolds, many of the parts we rely on while driving have come from an auto machining job shop. Depending on the shop’s capabilities, they may specialize in creating very specific parts for a certain type of car. For example, transmission cases can be created in a variety of sizes, ranging from less than 700 pounds to well over 1,000 pounds. Likewise, manifolds can be created specifically for racing engines or for everyday use. Their specialization may allow them to work exclusively in one auto manufacturing industry, whether its trucks, construction and farm equipment, service parts, alternative energy or racing and performance vehicles.
All job shops must be certified by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) in order to provide certified products to their customers. Each shop is stocked with the heavy machinery required to create custom auto parts. In addition to machine operators, designers and craftsmen, job shops also employ customer service representative and shipping department personnel. With an increase in business due to an abundance of auto manufacturers, many job shops have boosted their staff numbers to respond to the number of orders they receive. Though it’s a busy time for
